Looking for an exciting way to improve your French while catching some waves this summer? This program in Biarritz is specifically designed for 13- to 17-year-olds, offering a complete French language immersion experience and thrilling surf sessions along the stunning Basque Coast.

You’ll benefit from interactive French lessons (aligned with CEFR standards), expert surf coaching, and immersive cultural activities – ensuring you return home with enhanced French skills and unforgettable memories.

French Lessons

Each week, students attend 20 French lessons (15 hours) taught by qualified and experienced teachers specialised in French as a Foreign Language (FLE). Our interactive classes emphasize practical language skills, such as speaking exercises, listening practice, and dynamic role-playing. Lessons take place in classrooms in the center of Biarritz, providing an ideal learning environment that boosts confidence and fluency in everyday French.

Surf and activities in Biarritz

Experience four surf sessions per week, led by certified surf instructors along the stunning beaches of Biarritz – one of the world’s premier surfing destinations. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced surfer, you’ll build confidence riding the Atlantic waves while refining your technique.

In addition to surf lessons, students will enjoy one half-day and one full-day excursion each week, offering the opportunity to explore the beauty of Biarritz and its surroundings. Plus, there are four cultural and social activities per week with the instructors, scheduled around the surf sessions depending on the tides. Examples include beach volleyball, laser tag, bowling, and a visit to Bayonne. One evening activity is organised once a week, for example a picnic at the beach, offering a great opportunity for socialising in a relaxed setting.

Full board accommodation with host family

Living with a host family allows a full cultural immersion, letting students practice their French in daily life. Students typically share a room with other participants, promoting friendship and language practice.

The program includes full board. Breakfast and dinner are enjoyed together with the host family, giving students a chance to savour authentic French cuisine while practicing their French. Lunch packs are provided by the host family to keep the students energised for their daily activities.

GOOD TO KNOW: Safety, 24/7 Support, and Transfers

The safety and well-being of our students are our top priorities. Each participant receives an 24/7 emergency number, ensuring round-the-clock support for any questions or concerns. A nightly curfew – 11:00 p.m. on weekdays and 1:00 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays – promote safety and adherence to program guidelines.

The host family provides arrival and departure transfers to and from Biarritz Airport or Biarritz Train Station, ensuring a seamless start and end to the student’s stay.

Students generally use public transportation to travel between host families, classrooms, and activity locations, encouraging independence and group bonding. Although tickets aren’t included, activity leaders help you purchase them on the first day.
