From February 9, you can find Les ateliers FL Nice at 3 rue Alfred Mortier, 06000 Nice.

The TCF Integration, Residency and Nationality (TCF IRN) is an official French language proficiency test, designed in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of the Interior. It certifies the level of French required for certain administrative procedures related to long-term residence in France.

The test assesses proficiency levels A1, A2, B1 and B2, depending on the candidate’s objective:

– Level B1 is required to obtain a residence card.

– B2 level is required when applying for French nationality.

The TCF IRN is specifically intended for foreign nationals aged 16 and over residing in France who need to certify their level of French for purposes of integration, residency, or access to French nationality.

The official certificate of results issued for this French language test is valid for two years.

The TCF IRN consists of four test sections, with a total duration of approximately 1 hour and 35 minutes:

Listening comprehension: 20 minutes
Reading comprehension: 35 minutes
Written expression: 30 minutes
Oral expression: 10 minutes

PREPARATION WORKSHOP

Les ateliers FL Nice offer a 1.5-hour preparation workshop designed to help candidates approach the TCF IRN in the best possible conditions. This workshop allows participants to become familiar with the different test sections, their format, and the expectations of the exam.

The workshop is included in the registration fee, but participation is optional and not mandatory to sit the exam.

However, participation is strongly recommended, as it provides the opportunity to ask questions, gain a clear understanding of how the test is conducted, and build confidence ahead of exam day.

Registration conditions

Registration deadline: 4 weeks before the session
Identification required on registration.
You must be at least 16 years old to register for the TCF.
No refunds are possible once payment has been made.
Certificates are sent 4 weeks after the test date.

Important information about the test procedure :

For all validated and paid registrations, a certificate of registration for the exam is provided by Les ateliers FL. This document will enable you to justify the steps you have taken with the prefecture as part of your administrative application.
TCF IRN tests are double corrected by France Éducation International in Paris. As a result, it can take around a month to receive the official results.
If you pass the exam, an official certificate will be issued by France Éducation International, and must be enclosed with your application to the prefecture.
If you fail the test, you can retake it, provided you wait at least 30 days between registrations. Re-registration for the TCF IRN exam costs €130 (excluding training).

Instructions to Follow on Exam Day

You must show yourself at the TCF session with an official photo ID (no student cards) and your invitation, otherwise you will not be able to take the test.
You must arrive 15 minutes before the time indicated on your invitation. No delay will be tolerated.
You must sign an attendance sheet at the beginning of each test.
You must bring a black ballpoint pen for the compulsory tests.
During the test, you will not be able to use any book or document under penalty of being excluded (grammar, dictionary …).
You must hand back all the TCF documents to the supervisor. It is strictly forbidden to take them home.
The time of each candidate’s oral test will be posted on the day of the session.
